Training is THE most important key to successful Scouting for both Leaders and Scouts. This about it. Would you want to trust your children to untrained teachers or daycare providers? If not, then why would you ask parents to trust their Scouts with untrained Leaders? Training helps leaders make Scouting safe and fun for everyone, while making sure that the goals of Scouting are accomplished.
Southbounder District has a group of committed, talented trainers who are here to help you along the training path. There are many different types of training available from on-line self paced training, videos, live classroom training, and outdoor trainings. You will find the courses valuable whether you are just starting out in Scouting, or whether you have been a leader for a while.
No matter what program or position, you’ll have fun getting trained! More importantly, you’ll learn what it takes to be a successful Scouting Leader, and how to use the extensive resources that BSA provides to its Leaders.
We will work with the Council to provide a list of LNT qualified leaders and provide LNT training opportunities. We post more information as it becomes available.
You now have the opportunity to bring CPR, AED, First Aid, and Wilderness and Remote First Aid training to individual units. Please contact Mr. Larry Davis for more information and to arrange a training program.
