Important information about the BSA Youth Protection Policy:

As of June 1, 2010 the BSA implemented mandatory Youth Protection Training (YPT) for all registered volunteers.

  • Youth Protection training must be taken every two years.
  • If a volunteer does not meet the BSA’s Youth Protection training requirement at the time of recharter, the volunteer will not be reregistered.
  • New adult applications for Southbounder District will not be processed without an accompanying Youth Protection Training certificate of completion.

In addition to traditional Youth Protection Training, we must also consider Youth Protection in regards to the Internet and Social Media.
